What was the highlight of UNAHOTELS Varese
3/5 air conditioning and restaurant a let down
Very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean. There were 4 of us travelling with 3 rooms. Parents room was like a suite. Kitchenette, living area with walkin wardrobe and then the bedroom. My parents had bath and separate shower with a view of the race course. My brothers room also had a view of thr race course he had just a walkin shower in his room. My room was at the back and down the corridor and I had a view of trees with leaves on the balcony. No view at all. There is a mini fridge, kettle, tea, coffee also complimentary bottled water in each room.
The room was very very warm and uncomfortable trying to sleep as the air conditioning was not working. When we went to reception the next morning to report it and they informed us that due to laws and regulations they could not put air con on until May. They did manage to turn down the heating in our rooms and suggested to leave the balcony doors open which I did not feel comfortable doing while asleep. (being a lone female in my room) This needs to be speculated on the website that there will be no air conditioning between certain months. Luckily I had my mini fan so managed to keep myself cool at night. Food in restaurant was disappointing. I had the sea bream fillet it wasn't descaled properly, or filleted properly, loads of bones, slimy scaly skin and very bland. It only came with 1 potato cut in quarters. Even my mum couldn't finish hers and for someone who loves fish it was a disappointment. If it wasn't for the air con and restaurant food this would've got 5 stars from me.

There was a very bad smell in the rooms and the coffee at breakfast was the worst I drank in Italy even though I asked the waiter to make it in a machine inside, too bad

Clean, comfortable, spacious ,nice breakfast everything was working
The shower was badly designed so there was a leak of water to the rest of the bathroom . One night, someone was banging on my door at 6 am possibly by mistake, and woke me up
